All my years eating mayonnaise in sandwiches and egg or tuna salad and it never occurred to me to learn what it actually was. It wasn’t until I watched a clip of popular TV chef Gordon Ramsay show exactly how simple it is to make mayonnaise. Did you know all mayonnaise is simply beaten eggs and oil? Yeah. That’s all it is. So when you have that egg and bacon sandwich slathered with mayo, you may actually be eating twice as many eggs in one meal! And you wonder why you put on so much weight.
But point being, if you are looking for a cheap calorie boost, and you don’t have eggs lying around, then why not make yourself a literal mayo sandwich? I’ve done it and it works wonders. And strange how a jar of mayo seems to last longer than a dozen of actual eggs doesn’t it? That’s because oil doesn’t rot. When you mix the oil in with the egg proteins (that actually can rot), then it changes the nature of it. Granted, you’re also eating a lot of oil too, but eggs be eggs. And the oil may actually make it taste better. It always makes your fast food sandwiches taste better!
So if you a po boy, go make yeself a mayo sandwich and not be ashamed about it. Trust me, it is literally THE SAME THING as eating egg sandwich!
Had to revert back to Qt 4.8.5 but it works nonetheless. The video is choppy because I’m screencapturing the video as it’s running, but on my quadcore it runs at steady 60 fps. On duo-core it runs a steady 20 to 40 fps, so it really depends on your hardware, or I just need to optimize it more. But check out pure 3D in Qt and c++, no third-party dependency on OpenGL or DirectX!
How To Download m3u8 videos from Twitter
By Chongchen Saelee
If you’re browsing websites like Twitter or Facebook, you may notice videos may not be accessible for download. Back in the day, it was quite easy because the actual video file is embedded right into the page. These days, with privacy concerns (and copyright issues), Internet videos are becoming harder to “save for offline viewing”. But with a little know-how, you could successfully save these videos for offline viewing. After all, the data has to be sent to your computer anyway.
So particularly for m3u8 file format, which is just a plain text file that includes a playlist of urls to source videos (and sometimes other playlists), what you’re looking for are ts video source urls. Of course, you have to track down the url of the m3u8 file first. In Google Chrome, there is the very helplful “inspect” tool in the Developer Tools menu. Or, if it hasn’t been obfuscated, you can right-click on the part of the webpage wear the video will render and click on “Inspect” if that option is enabled. Then you want to track down that url for the m3u8 file. Download the m3u8 file and open it with a plain text editor like Notepad. more »

Stories From 2525: Eating At Simm’s Burgers
By Chongchen Saelee
Promptly at 3:34pm each workday, I take my 30 minute break for lunch. I take a brisk stroll through the empty metropolitan streets just a couple of blocks away from The Cube, where I work. The streets are empty because most citizens are locked in their cages at home piloting their drones. And those personal drones scatter throughout the city like giant pests. I’m headed for Simm’s Burgers for lunch. Thank god Simm’s doesn’t allow drones.
Simm’s is an old-fashion food vendor. Back in the day, they called their type of service “fast food”. I don’t know why, the automation food preparation system behind the kitchen viewing glass seems to move quite slow. On average, I receive my meal in an agonizing 30 seconds or longer. It irks me to have to come up with some kind of conversation in those 30 seconds to spare with the zit-faced kid at the front counter. more »
