Face Simplification Process

Face Simplify

Face Simplify

Man, the process of creating a work method to have consistent face quality is hard. If anything is off, the character ends up looking like someone else completely, or looks too young, or too old. At least I got the “Asian” nose correct. Only reference is myself.

Fish Flavor Soda, Mmm-Mm!!!

Fish Soda Concept

Fish Soda Concept

An idea I had for my upcoming sci-fi story. Fish soda wouldn’t necessary be a mouthful of sea water. It’s the fresh essence of fish, natural or artificial. It may very well be cold soup type of thing like V8 tomato juice. And because it’s sci-fi speculation, because of ignorant consumer complaints, the fish “odor” is engineered away. Of course, the real gimmick is that in the future, no one knows what fish tastes like anymore, so they just drink this artificial gunk and it’s quite popular flavor.

Optimizing Web Pages For Ultra-fast Downloading

By Chongchen Saelee

I want to share with you my way of optimizing web page downloads at fast speeds. It seems webpage technology is always evolving, so if you want to take advantage of some of the improvements, you have to stay informed. For example, HTML5 is looking to be very effective version of HTML. So the first thing you want to do is take advantage of that. All my modern webpages are declared HTML5 now. You do so like this, as the very first line in your HTML source:

<!doctype html>

Because with HTML5, you can take advantage of some new features which I’ll explain in the following parts. more »

Secrets of Bitcoin By Satoshi Nakamoto

By Chongchen Saelee

When I first conceived Bitcoin for my high school assignment, I had to come up with a way to simulate existing financial system or at least what I thought it was. So back in the late 1990s, people were already using credit cards (a kind of non-tangible money) but there was very little integration or user-friendly interface with the Internet. Then PayPal came along which was pretty close to “Internet money”, but was obviously just an exchange between existing currencies. more »

Really refining my skills in Manga Studio 5. My weakness is in character consistency, just don’t look the same every time I draw each of them. But it has to do with rushing. But I’m sure if I went back and redraw over this page, I could make it look even more polished. Also, straight lines seem to make things look cleaner. Look at that establishing shot with the 2-point perspective. Impressive, huh? The lines have character. Manga Studio’s perspective ruler tool is impressive.

In 2525, you can pay robots with bitcoins, aka “commands by humans”. It’s really technical (eye roll).

Father’s Day Stuff: Baby Drawings

In honor of my father and uncle, I’d thought I’d honor Father’s Day with these drawings from my uncle’s kids that they drew while I babysitted them between the ages of 0 to 6 years old.

Manga Studio 5.0.5 Demo

Manga Studio 5 Demo

Manga Studio 5 Demo

Ordered Manga Studio 5 and played around real quick. It’s not that I can’t do the same quality sketch in Photoshop. Manga Studio just has everything set up nicely for hardcore illustrators like myself. But the most coveted thing about Manga Studios is that pen. Still having to learn it, though. I ordered it before, but that was when I had Windows XP and the shit crashed. So just a warning, from what I noticed so far, is that you need a powerful PC, mulit-core because Manga Studio seems kinda clunky. But once you see the quality of art you can get, maybe it will be worth it. more »
